Jacqui, M9JQY, Is Secretary of South Derbyshire & Ashby Woulds Amateur Radio Group which had a great BSW 2025. For this year, the group will be encouraging local schools and Scouts to go along with their families to see what the wonderful world of amateur radio Is all about. They will help visitors to become involved in all the activities they offer as a club and give them an opportunity to ‘have a go’ at operating under supervision. They’ll have some vintage kit to show how radio has developed over time, some hand-built kit and will have some building going on too. Visitors will also be able to send their names in Morse code. The club hopes to attract newcomers to amateur radio so they will show how setting up a station doesn’t need to ‘break the bank’.
